VK: RuStore users download over 500,000 apps over month

ST. PETERSBURG, Jun 15 (PRIME) – The users of Russian applications store RuStore for Android devices have downloaded more than 500,000 applications over a month with the most popular being financial and content programs, Internet company VK said on Wednesday in a statement.

“At the start of RuStore’s beta version, over 100 applications were available for users…Three weeks later, such applications counted far more than 400. The leaders are the financial and content applications, including Sberbank Online, VKontakte, online cinemas, as well as marketplaces, for example, AliExpress Russia,” the statement read.

RuStore does not contain any foreign applications, but VK hopes they will appear in the future.

VK together with the Digital Development Ministry launched the beta version of RuStore in late May in response to the ban of Russian applications in Google Play and App Store.
